Watch Sally Shapiro’s Storybook-Disco ‘If It Doesn’t Rain’ Video

Sally Shapiro, "If It Doesn't Rain," video

Sally Shapiro, the team of a pseudoynmous Swedish singer and her Giorgio Moroder-minded producer Johan Agebjörn, released a new album earlier this year called Somewhere Else. It was the pair’s most rewarding full-length since quietly stunning 2008 debut Disco Romance, partly because it withdrew back into fragile, withdrawn indie-pop after 2009’s more bold-faced My Guilty Pleasure. A particular standout on the new record is the hushed, aching “If It Doesn’t Rain.” The song’s new video (via Idolator) amplifies its familiar yet strange, tale-as-old-as-time quality with an edit by Iris Beatrix based on a fantastical 1953 film by Czech animator Zden?k Miler. Spoiler: Someone brings an umbrella.
