Melvins Pay Tribute to Tales of Terror With Morbid, Sludgy ‘Romance’ Cover

melvins, everybody loves sausages

The Melvins are set to take on tunes from David Bowie, Roxy Music, the Kinks, and the Jam on their upcoming, cameo-filled covers album, Everybody Loves Sausages (due April 30 on Mike Patton’s Ipecac Recordings). The Washington sludge stars unveiled their tinny take on Queen’s “You’re My Best Friend” last month (via Noisey), and now the 51 states in 51 days tour champs have polished off their rendition of “Romance,” a decidedly unpolished scuzz cut from the Kurt Cobain-approved Sacramento band Tales of Terror. Hear the Melvins Lite lineup — frontman Buzz Osborne, drummer Dale Crover, and bassist Trevor Dunn — trudge through the festering ode to a dearly departed love over at MSN Entertainment.
