Mark Lanegan and Moby Pass ‘The Lonely Night’ With Bleak, Breathtaking Video

Mark Lanegan, prolific, bourbon-voiced hermit, unveiled his Josh Homme co-written theme song for Anthony Bourdain new show earlier today, and now the video for Lanegan’s moody Record Store Day collaboration with Moby, “The Lonely Night,” has been revealed. The gorgeous time-lapse footage of the California desert works well with the parched nature of Lanegan’s voice and Moby’s minimal textures (even if Colin Rich’s photography does copycat similar desert imagery seen in Ron Fricke’s 2012 documentary Samsara).

The Lonely Night 7-inch arrives April 20, Record Store Day, and is backed by a remix by Photek.
