See Foxygen Gently Disrupt the Streets of Paris With Three Live Performances

foxygen, take away show

Foxygen recently nixed their entire European tour schedule citing “creative health” reasons, but the Los Angeles psych-pop duo found time to record an installment of La Blogothèque’s Take Away Show series. Trolling the rain-kissed streets of Paris, the ’60s-infatuated two-piece (along with several live players) performed three tracks off their recently released sophomore album, We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic. Frontman Sam France does his best rock star impression — smoking cigarettes, mugging for the camera, playing with his hair, yelping till his voice goes hoarse, and urging passersby to sing along — while leading Jonathan Rado and the rest of the crew through “On Blue Mountain,” “In the Darkness,” and “No Destruction.”
