Hear 2 Chainz’ One Verse on Fall Out Boy’s ‘My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark’ Remix

2 Chainz has been in the orbit of Fall Out Boy’s return to music this year, appearing in the video for single “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)” and performing with the band at this year’s NBA All-Star Game. The culmination of this relationship between one of rock’s most rap-savvy bands and the most ubiquitous MC in the game is the new “My Songs” remix, which features a reworked instrumental and, of course, a verse from Chainz himself. The original’s squealing guitars and arena drums are swapped out here for a rap-friendly beat that wouldn’t sound out of place on an Atlanta mixtape, while 2 Chainz raps acutely 2 Chainz lines such as “I’m so hot, I’m getting head in a fire truck.”

The one-time Tity Boi unfortunately doesn’t appear on Fall Out Boy’s upcoming Save Rock and Roll, which will hit stores on April 12 — instead we get Big Sean. But we also get Courtney Love and Elton John so it sort of balances itself out. Or let’s hope it does.
