Hear Sun Airway Fuse Daft Punk and Talking Heads on ‘Made Iridescent by a Passing Swan’ Mixtape

Sun Airway’s Jon Barthmus has followed last year’s sophomore full-length, Soft Fall, with yet another handcrafted mix. Made Iridescent by a Passing Swan — the fourth in a series of mixtapes, following It’s Alright Now, All the Time You Need, and I Need You Close — deftly stitches together tunes by the Talking Heads, Frank Sinatra, the recently revived Daft Punk, Elvis Presley, SPIN profile subjects Crystal Castles, Roy Orbison, Dirty Beaches, Best New Artist alum Nightlands, and more. Surfacing at the top of this 21-minute cocktail is Soft Fall standout “New Movements,” which helps bridge the gap between the opening snippet of Ol’ Blue Eyes’ “Stardust” and the halfway mark’s treatment of David Byrne’s “This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody).” Hear it all below and scroll down further for a list of all the tracks used.
