Revisit Jenny Lewis’ Many Hairstyles in Rilo Kiley’s Archival ‘Let Me Back In’ Video

rilo kiley, let me back in, rkives

Last month, Rilo Kiley shared “Let Me Back In,” a tender ode to Los Angeles, set to appear on the long-dormant indie quartet’s upcoming rarities compilation, RKives (out April 2 via bassist Pierre de Reeder’s own Little Record Company). The More Adventurous L.A. rockers also asked fans to help them compile a video for the track by uploading personal favorite Rilo Kiley video clips, footage, and animation to the band’s website.

Now we have the fruit of that nostalgia-fueled effort. The above four-and-a-half-minute clip spans several Jenny Lewis hairstyles and collects bits of backstage bonding, live shows played throughout the years, air travel, frozen margaritas, and one quick cameo by Dolly Parton. It’s a wistful, heart-swelling postcard delivered from the days long before Rilo Kiley’s 2007 swan song, Under the Blacklight. RK may be long gone, but they’ll always let you back in.
