French Montana Tour-Bus Shooting Leads to Murder Charge for Philly Man

French Montana

Late last week, a drive-by shooting outside French Montana’s tour bus left one man dead and another injured after Montana’s show in Philadelphia. Plenty is still unclear about the incident, including a motive, but police have now named their suspect. Frank Briggs, a 20-year-old from Philly, faces murder and related charges over the shooting, according to Philly.com

The full list of charges against Briggs includes murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and weapons offenses, police reportedly said. Officials have identified the man killed in the shooting as Jowann King, a 26-year-old from New York. A 28-year-old man who survived being shot in the incident has not been publicly named.

Montana is on the road in support of his upcoming Excuse My French and is slated to perform tonight in Detroit. Coincidentally or not, the shooting came after a Montana concert last month in Las Vegas allegedly led to a separate murder. As Philly.com points out, the Moroccan-born rapper has previously survived a gunshot to the head.
