Caveman teased a stylistic shift from closemouthed folk bros to New Wave daydreamers with “In the City,” the first single off their forthcoming self-titled sophomore album (out April 2 via Fat Possum). The New York five-piece slowed down on “Over My Head,” the pending LP’s chorale-enhanced second sample, and now the genre-swapping outfit has burrowed deeper into Caveman‘s earth-toned synth tunnel for “Where’s the Time.” Dusty chamber-folk rarely sways so effortlessly.
