Billie Joe Armstrong just returned to Green Day following a stint in rehab, but the 41-year-old frontman is ready for his next comeback. According to the New York Times, Armstrong is plotting a return to the stage with Yale’s Repertory Theatre.

The one-time star of the American Idiot Broadway musical will reportedly write new songs for the company’s take on These Paper Bullets, a rock’n’roll version of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. Set to have its world premiere in March 2014, the play follows a band from Liverpool, England as they navigate romance and London’s music scene. These Paper Bullets was adapted by Rolin Jones and will be directed by Jackson Gay.

Green Day are picking up their long-stalled arena tour at the end of March, but first the Bay Area pop-punks are playing a gig at South By Southwest on March 15. That same day, the ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré! trio will treat festival-goers to a showing of ¡Quatro!, the documentary about the trilogy’s making. Also planned for March 15: the world premiere of Broadway Idiot, a film tracing American Idiot‘s journey from album to musical.

That’s quite a busy schedule, but at least Armstrong swears he’s taking his time when it comes to the next Green Day full-length.
