Sorry, America: Atoms for Peace Announce Full-Band European Tour

Last month, Thom Yorke and Radiohead producer/Atoms For Peace collaborator Nigel Godrich announced that they’d be playing three live DJ sets in support of Amok, the experimental supergroup’s recently released debut album. Tickets for said shows sold out pretty much instantly. Luckily for anyone not holding passes for the upcoming Berlin and New York gigs (Yorke already crooned and shimmied his way through the duo’s February 22 London show), Atoms For Peace has announced a full European tour with the entire band, including Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, part-time Chili Peppers and David Byrne percussionist Mauro Refosco, and longtime Beck drummer Joey Waronker. Unfortunately, none of the performances are happening in these here United States.

The full five-piece will kick off their 11-date European trek on July 6 in Paris, and then follow with concerts in Belgium, Germany, Slovakia, Serbia, Italy, and England (the three festival slots in Slovakia, Serbia, and Germany were confirmed last month). European fans hoping for a chance to see Yorke unveil his best “Ingenue” moves this July can buy tickets here on March 6 at 9 a.m. GMT.

So far, the only Stateside set any Atoms For Peace affiliates have planned is Yorke and Godrich’s DJ booth appearance at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City on March 14, their final spin’n’strum gig. Here’s hoping Yorke and co. are just saving the best for last.
