Roots Picnic Official Lineup Bears Out Our Predictions, Adds Naughty by Nature
Not to pat ourselves on the back but... we nailed it.
?uestlove dropped some major hints about the lineup for the sixth annual Roots Picnic yesterday (January 21) and SPIN took some guesses as to who the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon bandleader had booked for the Philadelphia concert. Turns out, we were right: Grimes, Gary Clark Jr., Solange, Robert Glasper, Joey Bada$$, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Hit-Boy, and the Gaslamp Killer are all set to appear at Philly’s Festival Pier at Penns Landing on June 1. (Still really wish we were wrong about Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.)
Also on the bill (via Facebook): the Roots (of course), Naughty By Nature, How to Dress Well, AraabMuzik, DJ Premier, Trinidad Jame$, Lushlife, Sonnymoon, and Jennah Bell.
Tickets go on sale on Friday (January 25) at noon EST, with a limited supply of early bird special passes starting at $39.50.
