Frank Ocean Heroically Fights Chris Brown Over Parking Space

Frank Ocean and Chris Brown

If you woke up this morning feeling like the forces of good and evil were locked in a battle for world domination, you weren’t far off. Frank Ocean and Chris Brown got into a fight last night outside a Los Angeles recording studio.

According to TMZ, sources close to Hall of Shamer Brown blamed Ocean for starting the brawl, which they said was over a parking spot. “This is my studio, this is my parking spot,” Ocean allegedly said, after he and his entourage blocked Brown from exiting. Brown’s people claimed the Sisqo-channeling singer went to shake Ocean’s hand and got jumped by Ocean’s buddies. Then a pop-royalty rumble reportedly ensued.

Ocean, who is nominated for six Grammy Awards, suggests Brown — who has a history of scrapping with pop stars, rappers, comedians, and pretty much everyone else — instigated the incident. Ocean wrote on Twitter: “got jumped by chris and a couple guys. lol.” He added, “cut my finger now i can’t play w two hands at the grammys.” (In related news, Frank Ocean is evidently performing at the Grammys!)

TMZ also reports that police arrived and spoke with Ocean. Brown had already left. The fight allegedly involved six people.

Whoever’s in the right in this particular situation, there’s been bad blood between these guys for more than a year. In 2011, the two had a Twitter feud that led to Brown’s cousins following Ocean’s car and threatening him, a scene that wound up on YouTube (via FACT). Last summer, a report surfaced that had Brown saying, “Man, no homo,” when asked his opinion of Ocean’s brave coming-out letter, though Brown later suggested the report was “BS.”

Musically, Ocean has a Nas collaboration, “White Jesus,” that producer Hit-Boy told MTV will eventually see the light of day. Brown reportedly has an album called Carpe Diem on the way (you only live once, after all), but he’s better known for participating in Rihanna’s ongoing, no-news-is-bad-news social-media publicity campaign. So while we don’t want anyone to get hurt, we especially don’t want Ocean to get hurt.
