Those geniuses at Moog Music have crafted a new synthesizer called the Sub Phatty, and they gave one to Los Angeles producer/ Captain Murphy alter ego Flying Lotus to give a test drive. The result is “Such a Square,” a 90-second funk freak-out that pushes the Sub Phatty to its boundaries (via Soul Culture). For the track, Moog also brought in Adult Swim/Captain Murphy artist Adam “lilfuchs” Fuchs to give a psychedelic animated odyssey into the complex wiring of the instrument in the short film Moog Sub Phatty: New Machine for Living. For more info on the Sub Phatty — a steal at $1,099! — check out the Moog site.
