Feist Serenades Bleak Big Sur in Haunting ‘Graveyard’ Video

Feist has a song on the latest Twilight soundtrack, which is due out on November 13, but first the Canadian singer-songwriter has released a supernatural-tinged video of her own (via Pitchfork). Leslie Feist’s fourth album, Metals, came out more than a year ago, and our reviewer Garrrett Kamps wrote that funereal plaint “Graveyard” has “the album’s best hook.”

This stark, distant, Big Sur-set clip, directed by previous Beck and Jamie Lidell collaborator Keith Megna, is well worth the wait. “We’re alone in the field, always at a distance,” Feist said of the video on Facebook “And people appear and disappear from your life.” People, the clip suggests, and dark birds that might represent lost souls.

There’s no need to hide under the table, though. “Whoa oh oh oh oh, bring them all back to life,” Feist sings, and you know what? That’s still a pretty great hook.
