Grab Rick Ross’ ‘The Black Bar Mitzvah’ Mixtape

Rick Ross' 'Black Bar Mitzvah'

“We celebratin’ life,” Rick Ross exults on the first track from his new The Black Bar Mitzvah mixtape. “We celebratin’ success.” The release, which you can stream or download below, is the very same one that prompted us to congratulate the Teflon Don on his impending conversion to the religion of Abraham. That was when he released the Star of David-emblazoned cover artwork, which you can see above, taking hip-hop’s ongoing fascination with Judaism (l’chaim, Jay-Z and Black Eyed Peas) to new heights of audacity. Along with a few extremely familiar beats, the tape features Drake, Gunplay, 2 Chainz, Pharrell Williams, Diddy, Lil Reese, and more. Speaking of Drake, it’s as good a time as any to revisit his masterful “HYFR” video, in which Lil Wayne and Rihanna help Drizzy revisit his own, actual black bar mitzvah.
