Coldplay Serenade a ‘Yellow’ Arena in ‘Live 2012’ Movie Clip

Coldplay’s rainbow-colored, laser-happy live show will be packaged as a concert film/album combo on November 20, but Chris Martin and co. have treated the Internet to a quick preview. The just-over-a-minute clip showcases the usually mild-mannered English rockers pummelling through a muscular rendition of their essential “Yellow.” The best part? They’re playing to an arena audience that’s bathed in — wait for it — yellow light.

EPIX subscribers will get a front row seat to the show a few days early. Live 2012, the film that captures the band’s massively successful tour behind 2011’s Mylo Xyloto, will premiere on EPIX, EpixHD.com, and EPIX apps on Novemeber 17 at 8 p.m.

This isn’t Coldplay’s only multimedia project at the moment, either. The band recently used their song “Hurts Like Heaven” to soundtrack a trailer for their upcoming six-part comic book series about love, dystopia, and the power of vandalism. The comics arrive in early 2013, courtesy Matt Groening’s imprint Bongo Comics Group. That trailer is included below.

Coldplay are also busy with some street art of their own. According to MSN, the kid-friendly five-piece are auctioning off the graffiti-covered wall featured on the cover of Mylo Xyloto to benefit Kids Company, a charity focused on helping at-risk children in the U.K. The wall, along with three other original paintings by the band (done in collaboration with street artist Paris), will be exhibited in London from November 29 to December 2.
