Christina Aguilera’s ‘Your Body’ Video Puts Violence In Its Sex

After a slow trickle of seconds-long teasers, Christina Aguilera has at last unleashed the music video for her comeback banger “Your Body.” And without giving away too much, it’s fair to say the video gives new meaning to the term “femme fatale.” An opening warning tells us that “no men were harmed in the making of this video,” but for some reason Xtina has an online psychic who correctly assures her she has a “killer week.” Blue splatter and pink glitter ensue, and in the end Aguilera is watching Lucille Ball on an old TV, as if to assure us, “Hey, this is comedy!” It might take us a few more viewings to get the joke, but at least there’s enough amazing absurdity going on to make that prospect sound entertaining.

“Your Body” is the first single off Aguilera’s seventh studio album, Lotus, due November 13 on RCA. The Max Martin-produced dubstep dabbler premiered earlier this month amid rumors that the diva will be stepping out of her swiveling judge’s chair at the end of the current season of NBC’s The Voice in order to “go and be an artist again.” Lotus follows Xtina’s suddenly defensible 2010 full-length Bionic, and reportedly will feature credits from Sia Furler and Alex da Kid.
