Hear Tyler, the Creator’s Toro y Moi-Produced ‘Hey You’

Tyler, the Creator

Tyler, the Creator and Chazwick Bundick of Toro y Moi have publicly documenting their bro-love for one another for a while (see here, here, and here). In March of last year, Bundick even remixed Tyler’s Bastard cut “French.” It would seem now, though, that their particularly specific tweets back and forth last summer actually produced a formal collaboration or two.

One “leaked” recently (or leaked “a couple months ago,” according to Bundick) and was furiously passed around by the Internet today when Tyler Tumbl’d a link to the song, a Toro-produced smooth jam called “Hey You.” The original version apparently used to feature a verse from Danny!, but the version Tyler shared had the South Carolina rapper’s verse wiped clean off.

Coincidentally (or not?), the song drops the same day Odd Future announced an as-yet-venueless fall U.S. tour, as well as the upcoming releases of Domo Genesis’ collaborative album with the Alchemist (No Idols, out August 1), Mellowhype’s Numbers (due October 2), and Tyler’s anticipated Goblin follow-up, Wolf (due “in November”). That last tour date, in the collective’s hometown of L.A., is reserved for their first-ever step on the way to becoming the Tumblr-generation Insane Clown Posse Odd Future Carnival, details of which are yet to be released.

According to Bundick, a “studio version” of “Hey You” is on the horizon. Hear the characteristically uncomfortable-around-girls track, as it exists now, below:
