Panda Bear Made You a Cool Screensaver: ‘You Can Count on Me’ Video

Panda Bear has unveiled the video for “You Can Count on Me,” the opening track from his SPIN-approved disc Tomboy. As with all Panda Bear videos, the camera-shy Noah Lennox doesn’t make an appearance (nor does the Jerry Maguire-sampling track feature any Cuba Gooding Jr.). Instead, he lets director Danny Perez, who was behind the camera for Animal Collective’s art film ODDSAC, put his own psychedelic visuals on the tracks. For two minutes, there’s a flurry of neons and some aquatic imagery, like a perfectly-tuned iTunes Visualizer, but the last 30 seconds are reserved for a close-up of a cute puppy licking the lens.

With only five shopping days left ’til Christmas, you can still pick up your copy of Noah Lennox’s mammoth 4LP limited edition Tomboy — complete with demos, instrumentals, a cappellas, and the non-album track “The Preakness” — at the Paw Tracks site. All proceeds from the 5,000 deluxe Tomboys benefit the American Cancer Society. It’s like buying the perfect Xmas gift and donating to charity at the same time!
