What band were you obsessed with in high school?
From ten on, I had a profound love of Guns N’ Roses. Axl, mainly. That was the first time I remember having sexual feelings for anyone.

On that note, did your parents ever object to anything you were listening to?
Let’s go ahead and say they weren’t huge fans of Axl and Slash. But they didn’t know any ?better. My mom helped me dye my hair red.

What’s the first album you bought with your own money?
The Cars’ Greatest Hits. I was 11 and my brother wouldn’t share his copy.

If you were to portray a musician in a bio-pic, who would it be?
I always thought I was going to play Joan Jett, but then it happened without me. So I’ll say Otis Redding. Or Carly Simon.

Name a playlist on your iPod.
The Ah, You Need to Chill mix. It’s me sending a message to myself. It’s got Beta Band’s “DNA,” Blitzen Trapper’s “Furr,” and “Animal Fat” by Apostle of Hustle.

What was the last concert you attended?
Girl Talk at Comic-Con. I moshed.

Do you have a go-to karaoke song?
Oh yeah. I need to be prepared in case there’s one of those periods where everyone’s like, “We’re into karaoke again!” ?I dig on Pat Benatar. Also, “It Was a Good ?Day” by Ice Cube. I nail that one.

Name a band that a costar has introduced you ?to.
Kid Cudi did this thing with Ratatat [“Pursuit of Happiness”] and then I sort of sniffed out Ratatat.

Who comes after Radiohead on your iPod?
Ram Jam’s “Black Betty.”

What song reminds you of your first kiss?
“Asking for It” by Hole. It wasn’t playing, but that’s what I think of. I was 13, and I had snuck out to be with a guy who was 19. This was before I went to boarding school.

What song would you like played at your funeral?
“It’s Not Unusual” by Tom Jones, because it’s absurd, and this shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Whose music has helped you over a breakup?
I’m big into mash-ups, so maybe “Chicago Bump” by ?DJ Magnet, which is Amanda Blank, Chicago, and Spank Rock. It can get me in a good mood no matter what. Or else Eddie Murphy’s Raw.

Name an artist guaranteed to get someone laid.
The Black Keys. That’s not my opinion, that’s just a fact — they’re hot. Like the White Stripes. You could have a playlist called Black & White & Let’s Fuck and it would work.
