EXCLUSIVE: Neon Indian Rocks NY Fashion Week

When Fashion Week hits New York City, SPIN parties in style.

Last week, when New Yorkers donned their fanciest duds and hit the streets of Manhattan for the annual Fashion’s Night Out, SPIN threw a private party at the posh Mondrian SoHo hotel — and we invited chillwave maestro Neon Indian to perform at the shindig. Watch video of the band surging through their hot new single, “Polish Girl,” below!

The event — a Mondrian SoHo Session presented by SPIN (see pics here) — packed the hotel’s crystal-adorned greenhouse lounge with Fashion Week revelers, who danced it up to a full set from Neon Indian. Led by Alan Palomo, the five-piece band strutted through material from their second album, Era Extraña, including “Polish Girl,” a psychedelic dance track with bright synths and video game-esque effects. If a Lite-Brite made a sound, this would be it.

Catch Neon Indian on tour this fall — see dates here — and read an in-depth interview with Palomo about his band’s new album.
