The odds of the average person surviving in a post-apocalyptic world are very, very slim have you seen the film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s The Road? But Nicki Minaj and Rihanna are no normal Janes, and they remind us of just that in Minaj’s new video for “Fly.” Watch below!
In the clip, directed by Sanaa Hamri (Jay-Z, Prince, Christin Aguilera), the duo stroll through a destroyed city, all while dressed in high style — clearly the apocalypse hasn’t stopped these fashion icons: Minaj wears a dress adorned with scrap-metal and sports a series of wild hair-dos, including a pink bob, a leopard-print Mohawk, and a Frankenstein-style afro.
To survive, they’re forced to overcome the environment’s harsh obstacles, including a gang of ninjas. “I came to win / To survive / To prosper / To rise!” Rihanna sings on the track, the latest single from Minaj’s debut LP Pink Friday. “Me against them,” raps Minaj. “I will remain where the top begins.”
