Jens Lekman Returns With Punchy Pop Tune

Jens Lekman broke out four years ago with his swoon-worthy debut album Night Falls Over Kotedala. He’ll return on September 19 with a five-track EP titled An Argument With Myself and the Swedish singer-songwriter has shared the lead title track. Grab it over at his official site or hear it here.

Lekman doesn’t mess much with the quirky pop sound of his debut. Over punchy, polyrhythmic drums, funk bass, and Afropop-style guitars, he lets listeners inside his head as he has a hilarious conversation with himself. “Fuck you? No, you fuck you!” he croons with the rapid-fire pace of a rapper. “You didn’t come here for nothing, did you?”

Lekman will return to the U.S. with a short nine-date tour this fall. The trek kicks off September 28 in Los Angeles and wraps up on October 9 in Brooklyn, New York. Check out dates here.
