Jeff Tweedy Unveils Another New Wilco Tune

Wilco have debuted new music left and right from their upcoming set The Whole Love (out Sept. 27), and Jeff Tweedy isn’t done previewing new tunes. The latest is a track titled “Dawned on Me,” which the frontman performed acoustic during a photo shoot for St. Louis Magazine. Watch it here.

Compared to the band’s wild first single “I Might,” Tweedy unspools a laid-back ballad about love and devotion here — and even takes a crack at whistling the tune’s main melody.

Expect Wilco’s album — to be released on their newly formed dBpm imprint — to be one of their most adventurous yet. “I do think it’s a little bit more obnoxious and irreverent of a pop record than people have heard from us, maybe, ever,” Tweedy told SPIN earlier this year. “And that’s exciting. But I have no doubt that the second this record becomes available there’s somebody sitting in a basement at their computer with the word ‘meh’ already typed up, waiting to post a review.”
