Gordon-Levitt Does Nirvana, Lips’ Latest Vid + More

  • Joseph Gordon-Levitt performed a surprisingly ace version of Nirvana‘s “Lithium” at an event in Seattle, which you can watch below. The 500 Days of Summer actor was in town to promote his hitRECord project (via You Ain’t No Picasso).


    The Flaming Lips and Rhode Island noise rockers Lightning Bolt have released an insane video for their collaborative track “I’m Working at NASA on Acid,” which is included on their collaborative EP The Flaming Lips With Lightning Bolt. Check out the psychedelic bug-out below.


    Tokyo Police Club have launched an ambitious covers project, where they’ll hole up in a studio for the next 10 days and rehearse a song for ten hours, which will then premiere the following day.   • The death toll at the Pukkelpop festival has risen back up to five people, after the mayor of Hasselt, Belgium said yesterday that the fest had only claimed four lives. Eight people remain hospitalized and an estimated 140 suffered severe injuries.
