Gallagher Drops Suit, Winehouse VMA Tribute + More

  • Liam Gallagher has dropped a lawsuit against brother Noel, now that Noel’s apologized in an online interview for saying Liam forced Oasis to cancel a 2009 headlining slot at the V Festival because he had a hangover. Noel has corrected the record, saying Liam was suffering from laryngitis and “had a doctor’s note to prove it.” [The Sun]

  • Tony Bennett will lead a tribute to Amy Winehouse at the MTV VMAs, airing on August 28. The segment will feature footage of the pair recording Winehouse’s final song “Body and Soul,” which will be released digitally on September 14. “Our family is honored that the VMAs are giving Amy this wonderful tribute,” Winehouse’s father, Mitch, said in a statement.
