  • Is Lil Wayne going to retire? In an interview with XXL, the rapper hints that he’ll hang up his mic after his highly anticipated Tha Carter IV drops this summer. The reason? To focus on raising his children. “I’m bowing out still on top,” he says. “I’ma make y’all want me when I retire. I’ma make y’all be like, ‘Nooo!’ I ain’t leaving out this bitch when y’all be like, ‘Yeah, it’s about time, dawg.’ Carter IV might be my last one. I’ma make y’all be like, ‘Fuck!’ Yeah, nigga, I’m gone…I honestly think [my music career] is unfair to my kids.” [XXL]

  • Shirley Manson has been working for years on a solo album, but the Garbage singer has finally offered up an explanation as to why it hasn’t been released, citing conflicts with her record label. On her Facebook page, Manson writes that execs were disappointed with the music she turned in. “How we’d like to see your career shape up from here is that we would market you as the next Annie Lennox,” she jokes about what they told her.
