U2 Shatter Tour Record, DMB’s Chicago Fest + More

  • When U2 kick off the second leg of their U2360° Tour on Saturday in Sao Paulo, it is expected to be the highest-grossing tour in history. U2 will pass previous record-setters the Rolling Stones, whose A Bigger Bang Tour earned $558 million from 2005-2007.   • Dave Matthews Band have tapped Flaming Lips, Kid Cudi, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Ray LaMontagne, and more than two-dozen other artists to play at the band’s three day Caravan festival, taking place June 24-26 in Chicago.   • The Stone Roses bassist Mani has shot down reports that the iconic British group are reuniting. “It’s total fantasy island gear,” he said. Reports surfaced that the band was reuniting after members Ian Brown and John Squire recently attended a funeral for Mani’s mother. [NME]

  • Kanye West is reportedly designing a line of scarves based on artwork and lyrics from his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The rapper is working with Paris-based design duo M/M, who created the liner notes for his latest album, for a limited-edition run of 250 scarves. [Hip-Hop Wired]
