Arctic Monkeys LP, ‘Spider-Man’ Overhauled + More

  • Arctic Monkeys‘ fourth album will be titled Suck It and See and will be released on June 7. The record was produced by Simian Mobile Disco‘s James Ford and cut in Los Angeles. Hear the album’s lead track “Brick by Brick” here. [Arctic Monkeys’ Official Site]

  • Julie Taymor is stepping down as director of U2‘s troubled Spider-Man musical as Bono and The Edge (along with new director Philip McKinley) overhaul the production, which includes introducing two new songs. The opening night of the show has been delayed for a sixth time and will now premiere in “early summer.” [The New York Times]

  • Director David Lynch is re-launching his online music store called the David Lynch Music Co. The site will feature music and videos of recordings that Lynch owns, including remixes from the soundtrack to his classic Eraserhead and an unreleased album from the ’90s that he cut with Blue Velvet composer Angelo Badalamenti.   • Jack White has revealed his latest project: the Third Man Rolling Record Store, a roving music retailer that will sell limited-edition releases from his label, plus other memorabilia. White will unveil the store — housed in a yellow truck — at this year’s South by Southwest Festival. [Third Man Records]

  • After close to 500 performances, Green Day‘s American Idiot Broadway musical will close on April 24. Billie Joe Armstrong will return to play the character St. Jimmy for the last three weeks. The announcement comes after a huge drop in box office grosses for the musical in the first week since Armstrong wrapped up his last stint performing. [The New York Times]
