Rihanna’s Tour, Gucci Mane’s March LP + More

  • Rihanna has announced the first seven dates of this summer’s LOUD Tour, which includes dates at New York’s Nassau Coliseum and Los Angeles’ Staples Center. More dates will be announced soon; tickets go on sale February 14 at Ticketmaster. [Rihanna’s Official Site]

  • Gucci Mane will release a new album, The Return of Mr. Zone 6, on March 22. The set features guest spots from Waka Flocka Flame, Wale, and others; exclusive tracks will also be released each week on the rapper’s website.

  • Thurston Moore‘s forthcoming Beck-produced solo album has been retitled Demolished Thoughts. (The disc was previously reported to be called Benediction.) The Sonic Youth guitarist’s third proper solo record will be released later this year. [Sonic Youth’s Official Site]

  • R.I.P. Guitar Hero. Video game company Activision Blizzard has announced it will cease publishing the popular video game due to “continued declines in the music genre.” [CNN]

  • To mark the 47th Anniversary of the Beatles‘ first visit to the United States, a Los Angeles movie theater will screen footage of the Fab Four’s first American concert, which took place in 1964 in Washington, D.C. It will be the first time the footage has been screened in public since that year. [Los Angeles Times]

  • Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi‘s Rome — the spaghetti western-inspired project featuring cameos from Jack White and Norah Jones — will be released in May on Capitol Records. [Rome on Facebook]
