New Britney Song, Kanye-Kardashian Collabo + More

  • Britney Spears will premiere the first song from her upcoming album on January 7. “Hold It Against Me” is produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin. According to Z100 radio’s programming director Sharon Dastur, who heard the track, “Hold It Against Me” has “this infectious bass beat beneath the song. Plus, the hook is just amazing.” [MTV]

  • Kim Kardashian has apparently gotten Kanye West to appear in a music video for her debut album, which is being produced by R&B pro The-Dream and is due out sometime next year. The duo filmed the clip, directed by Hype Williams, in Los Angeles earlier this week. [TMZ]

  • Bobby Farrell – frontman 1970s disco group Boney M – died this week at the age of 61 in St. Petersburg, Russia. The cause of his death has not been determined, but Farrell’s agent said the singer claimed to have breathing problems before a performance on Wednesday. [BBC]

  • The Michael Jackson Estate is upset over Discovery Channel’s plans to air a program reenacting the King of Pop’s autopsy, which is set to air in Europe on January 13. “[This is] motivated solely by your blind desire to exploit Michael’s death, while cynically attempting to dupe the public into believing this show will have serious medical value,” the co-executors of the estate said in a letter to the network.
