  • Neil Young‘s archives in San Carlos, California went up in a blazing two-alarm fire early Tuesday morning. The 12,000 square-foot warehouse holds Young’s guitars, music equipment, cars and other artifacts from his music career. Investigators estimate there is at least $1 million in damage, although firefighters have saved almost 85 percent of Young’s possessions. [KTVU California]

  • Coldplay will perform two intimate gigs for charity in the U.K. in December. The band will play their only shows of 2010 in Liverpool on December 19 and Newcastle on December 20. Tickets for the gigs, which will raise money for the homeless, go on sale Friday here.

  • After leaving longtime label EMI for Universal, Queen will begin a massive reissues project next year. The band will release deluxe version of their first five albums next March, with the rest of their catalogue to be reissued throughout 2011. [NME]
