The Black Eyed Peas will perform during the halftime show of the next Super Bowl, set for Feb. 6 in Arlington, Texas, at Cowboys Stadium. After several years of older, classic rock-leaning acts — Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, the Rolling Stones, Prince, Paul McCartney — the Peas will bring mainstream pop back to the big game for the first time since Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” performance in 2004.[MTV]

Perry Farrell is taking Lollapalooza abroad, with a South American version of the festival invading Santiago, Chile’s O’Higgins Park from April 2-3, 2011. A line-up has yet to be announced, but organizers promise it will feature an eclectic mix of international talent. “The people of Santiago have a passion for contemporary music and lead international lifestyles,” Farrell said in a statement. “Perfect.”
