Nicki Minaj will deliver one of the year’s most anticipated hip-hop debuts, Pink Friday on November 22 but the rapper has offered an early look of the finished product on a collaboration with Eminem, titled “Roman’s Revenge.” Hear it below!
Minaj and Eminem’s collaboration is an eerie, four-and-a-half minute beast. Assuming her bizarre alter ego Roman Zolanski, Minaj goes to battle with Eminem’s Slim Shady character over ominous string stabs and a hard-hitting metallic beat. “I’m starting to feel like a dungeon dragon,” Minaj raps. Later, Em delivers predictably agro, expletive-laden jabs at white girls: “Life is a dumb blond white broad, with fake tits and a bad dye job,” he raps.
As SPIN previously reported, Minaj released a video last week for another Pink Friday track titled “Right Thru Me.” Unlike “Roman’s Revenge,” the song is a lighter, string-soaked ballad, with Minaj delivering emotionally vulnerable lyrics about a deteriorating relationship.
