This week Gorillaz kicked off their first North American tour, which included a stop in New York City Thursday night for a dazzling hour-long gig at CBS’ Ed Sullivan Theatre and a special segment of Live on Letterman. Watch their complete set below!

There are a lot of reasons to see this band live: 1.) Damon Albarn, former frontman of Blur and Gorillaz’s mastermind. 2.) The reunion of Clash guitarist Mick Jones and bassist Paul Simonon, both members of Gorillaz. 3.) Plastic Beach, their excellent new concept album.

Their Live on Letterman set featured tracks from across the outfit’s catalogue, including older hits “Feel Good Inc.” and “Kids with Guns,” plus Beach songs “On Melancholy Hill,” “Superfast Jelly Fish,” “Glitter Freeze,” and cameos from singer Little Dragon and De La Soul.

The set ended with the audience storming the stage during a raucous version of “Clint Eastwood.”

Gorillaz opened their North American tour recently in Montreal. Read SPIN’s review here.
