Lily Allen Is Pregnant

Lily Allen has confirmed her pregnancy with boyfriend Sam Cooper, The Sun reports. As an affirmation, the 25-year-old British pop singer tweeted a picture of herself, smiling, holding Thursday’s issue of the tabloid: “Not quite front page worthy,” she captioned the picture, “but anyways……….. surreal.”

Allen’s been keen on starting a family for some time, particularly in the wake of her 2008 miscarriage with then-beau Ed Simons of the Chemical Brothers. Last year, in a SPIN cover story, she said she simply wanted to “find someone to fall in love with, have another go at having children, and move somewhere else.”

“I’m still that little girl who wants to be loved and wants the attention of my mum and dad,” she continued. “I didn’t receive it, so I want to have a go at giving it to my kids. The album [It’s Not Me, It’s You] is about confronting those things: I know it’s wrong, but a part of me wants the ideal we’ve always been sold.”

The failed pregnancy hit the singer very hard. “I couldn’t even compute the emotions going through my head, but I was having to put out a press release about my miscarriage,” the singer told Grazia magazine in late 2009. “I didn’t even start beginning to deal with it until the baby’s due date. Then it just hit me like a house collapsing.”

Allen — who’s been dating painter/decorator Cooper, 32, for a year — plans to honor her appearance this weekend at the Big Chill festival in Herefordshire, England, according to the Huffington Post.
