This week, the Smashing Pumpkins returned to the stage with a new lineup at a tiny L.A. club and Lady Gaga launched a new leg of her Monster Tour in Montreal. Meanwhile, the summer concert season cruised along with the U.K.’s mammoth Glastonbury festival and Electric Daisy Carnival, L.A.’s electronic music extravaganza, plus two of the biggest touring festivals kicked off, with Lilith Fair debuting in Calgary, Canada, and the Vans Warped Tour opening for business in Southern California. On the charts, it was hip-hop heaven, with Eminem recording the biggest single-week sales total of 2010 with the release of Recovery.
