Radiohead fans rejoice — the new album is coming.

In an interview with the BBC, guitarist Ed O’Brien said the Oxford quintet will finish recording their newest album in a “matter of weeks…. Ideally, it would be great if it came out sometime this year. It has got to; I hope so.”

O’Brien went on to note that the group recorded it with a different approach than their 2007 SPIN-approved In Rainbows.

“We decided at the end of the record never to do it like this again,” O’Brien said. “That was kind of the end of Radiohead mark two.”

It’s been a busy year for Radiohead since starting production on the new album last May. The group released two songs this past fall — “These Are My Twisted Words” and “Harry Patch (In Memory Of)”, and played a January Haiti benefit in L.A.. And after making a live debut last fall, frontman Thom Yorke toured in 2010 with his own supergroup, Atoms for Peace.
