While Bloc Party takes time off after five years of intensive world touring, frontman Kele Okereke is branching out on his own with The Boxer, his dance-tastic solo debut, out June 22. Watch the video for lead single “Tenderoni” below!
It’s a futuristic, D’Angelo-meets-Tron dancehall dreamscape, featuring a heavy dose of rotating neon and black light, sci-fi pant-suited dancers, and Okereke doing a little shadowboxing.
Okereke has also mapped a summer tour where he’ll take a full band on the road through the Midwest, Canada, and the Northeast, kicking off July 23 at the Metro in Chicago and wrapping August 7 in D.C. See the full itinerary below.
