Hütz now lives in Brazil, and the region’s rhythms infect even traditional Romani songs like “Pala Tute” on this Rick Rubin (under)production. It’s no Super Taranta!, but Hütz’s minor-key odes to erotic revolution and cosmic evolution still pack a heady, sweaty punch. Who else could condense Gypsy history into a single verse (“Break the Spell”)?
