Kanye West: Voted 2009’s Scrooge

America has two words for Kanye West: “Bah! Humbug!”

A new survey that recasts celebrities as famous holiday characters was released Wednesday, with the Chicago rapper as the grumpy, heartless Ebenezer Scrooge from Charles Dickens’ 1843 novel A Christmas Carol, Reuters reports.

The role fits: ‘Ye might not be greedy with his cash, but the guy certainly hogs the mic. At 2009’s MTV VMA Awards, the 32-year-old rhyme-sayer notoriously upstaged Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech, spurring a serious public backlash. Yeah, president Obama even called him a “jackass.” That hurts.

Elsewhere, the survey — an E-poll of 1,900 children, teens, and adults– cast nine-year-old Frankie Jonas, the youngest of the Jonas Brothers, as Tiny Tim; weatherman Al Roker as Frosty the Snowman; American Idol judge Simon Cowell as Heat Miser from the TV classic The Year Without a Santa Claus; and actor Christopher Walken as Jack Skellington, the lead from Tim Burton’s 1993 film The Nightmare Before Christmas

Another question asked which celeb Americans would like to spend New Year’s Eve with. The winners: Barack Obama, Oprah, and — wait for it, Mr Scrooge — Taylor Swift.

Merry Christmas, SPIN readers, and have a happy new year!
