As SPIN writes in our new Rock Myths feature, behind all the dramatic videos, mind-boggling outfits, and onstage antics, Lady Gaga is in fact a talented songwriter and performer. Here’s a little more evidence to back up that claim: video of a young Gaga, a.k.a. Stefani Germanotta, performing original songs at a talent show in 2005!
The clip was unearthed today by Perez Hilton, and it shows Gaga’s talent at work: dexterous piano skills, heartfelt lyrics with witty wordplay, catchy pop arrangements, and soaring vocals.
