Monday, when Jay-Z’s highly anticipated Blueprint 3 leaked more than a week before its September 11 release date, the Brooklyn rapper didn’t respond by threatening fans or suing bloggers. Instead, he put the whole thing up on MTV’s website to let all his fans hear it… legally!
“I’m excited for people to hear the album,” Jay told MTV News. “I’m very proud of the work I’ve done, so enjoy it.”
Releasing the album online now, Jay said, gives him some early insight into fan reactions.
“I can tell by the way my pager rings if a song is good or not,” he told MTV. “It’s really going crazy right now.”
