Muse to Release Orchestral Album

Just when we thought British prog-rock band Muse had reached the zenith of epic-ness with their last album, 2006’s Black Holes and Revelations, bandleader Matt Bellamy has revealed that the trio will incorporate an orchestra into their next release — and possibly “move away from rock all together.”

“A symphonic album has turned up here, like a full collaboration with an orchestra,” Bellamy told BBC 6Music. “It’s all very orchestral… it could actually be kind of a classical act basically.”

Though he didn’t offer a title or release date, Bellamy stated that the band is halfway done with the new record and plans to tour this fall. He also gave fans something to look forward to: “There’s some really brilliant songs coming out, some of our best material I think.”
