1.Head-to-Head

1/10

Wolf Parade singer/songwriter Dan Boeckner and his wife, Alexei Perry, are a little crazy and lot in love -- and their tour-opening show as the Handsome Furs Friday night at New York City's Mercury Lounge proved it. The Canadian duo couldn't take their eyes -- or hands -- off each other while playing music trivia with the crowd and delivering the gritty guitar and club beats of their new album, Face Control, with the energy of a sugar-high six-year-old.

3."Here's a Little Song and Dance..."

3/10

The set was just 10 songs and 50 minutes long. But what it lacked in length was made up by the duo's unique sound and desire to entertain.

4.Say Cheese!

4/10

Face Control was recorded after Boeckner and Perry traveled to the clubs of Eastern Europe for inspiration. "Radio Kaliningrad," its best track, is a fever rush of computer-generated dance beats, anthemic guitar riffs, and Springsteen-like yelps about "bombs in the capitol."

5.Young Love

5/10

The duo played trivia with the crowd between songs. "What's the name of Wayne Coyne's favorite Montreal band?" Boeckner asked. "Arcade Fire!" the audience screamed.

6.Dance, Dance, Dance!

6/10

As if her duties on keyboard and synths weren't enough, Perry walks an imiginary tightrope. Now that's called working the audience.

7."Mmm, Codeine..."

7/10

Boeckner, who did most of the talking, received hoots and hollers for slugging liquid codeine throughout the set to aid his "bronchitis" ("codeine, ladies and gentleman, is made stronger is Canada," he said) and for introducing tunes with humorous quips: "This song is about cocaine and American cheese," he explained, before ripping into the rolling guitar rhythms of "Thy Will Be Done."

10.Love on the Rocks...

10/10

"It's very intimidating to play New York," Boeckner said before closing out the show. No worries. The duo's lively tunes and matrimonial love conquered all... except for Perry's keyboard.
