First came the song and the live performance, both premiered exclusively on SPIN.com. Now, here’s the just-released music video for “So Human,” the new, Cure-sampling track off Lady Sovereign’s upcoming album, Jigsaw (out April 7).
Over skittering break beats and a sped-up sample of the Cure’s “Close to Me,” Sov spits rhymes about having a bad day. Her experience is replicated in the video, in which she glad-hands the press, endures a gushing psychiatrist, and pretends to enjoy a pretentious art gallery. But thankfully it all ends well for Sov, who throws a party and boogies down on the dance floor with her mates.
