The grass is always greener on the other side. Today’s round of actors and musicians flaunting their multi-media ambitions includes Walk the Line actor Joaquin Phoenix and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz and wife Ashlee Simpson. Read on for the gory details:

Joaquin Phoenix, rapper — no, seriously!
We knew he was going to ditch acting for music — but rapping!?!? Seriously, Joaquin, this is the equivalent of Snoop Dogg rhyming over a Johnny Cash classic… oh wait, that already happened.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Phoenix has left acting for rapping and is preparing his debut album — which will be produced by Diddy, a.k.a., Sean Combs! What’s more, actor and pal Casey Affleck will chronicle Phoenix’s musical venture in an upcoming documentary, beginning tonight with Phoenix’s first official concert at an unidentified Las Vegas club. This is beginning to feel a bit Truman Show, but if you don’t believe us, watch this murky video of Phoenix rapping.

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson to act in CSI: NY
Loose-lipped Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz and wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz invade network TV. According to Entertainment Weekly, Pete and Ashlee have closed a deal to guest star on the March 18 episode of CSI: NY. Their role: Bonnie and Clyde wannabes. No details have surfaced about newborn Bronx Mowgli’s participation — perhaps as a pissed-off tot who carves Jungle Book into his victim’s foreheads?
