He got “Lost” with Coldplay’s Chris Martin and now it seems hip-hop impresario Jay-Z is still wandering far and wide, telling MTV News that he needs boundaries to complete his next album, The Blueprint 3.
“You know, I think I need some restrictions,” Jay-Z said backstage at the Concert on the Eve of Change event celebrating Obama’s inauguration. “If I had restrictions, I would have done it in three weeks. I would have made what I believe to be a great piece of art.”
Last fall, Blueprint 3 producer Kanye West told MTV: “We went in, and we [did] the whole album. He wantedto do a few more joints, so he kinda pushed it back. I think [Jay pushed the album back because] ‘Swagger’ just didso incredible. We wanted to go up [and make sure] everything was onthat level.”
The man known as Hova also confirmed this week that buzzed-about tracks “Jockin’ Jay-Z,” “Swagger Like Us,”and “Brooklyn Go Hard” will appear on the album, whenever it is released: “I wanna make it beyond and above. I’m gonna take my time with it.”
