After living for months in a Twilight zone fueled by the release of the band’s soundtrack single “Decode” and its subsequent trip to the top of the charts,Paramore’s Hayley Williams, a devout fan of the vampire series, chattedwith SPIN.com on Monday, the night of the movie’s Los Angeles premiere.

“I’m really excited!I think it’s going to be good… I’ve seen some clips and it looks a lot different than I expected it to look,” Williams told SPIN.com of the movie. “The aesthetic overall feels real and that’s exciting because there’s vampires in it, so you never know which way that could go.”

But it’s not just the movie that’s on her mind. Its soundtrack album, which features two new Paramore songs and sits in the No. 1 spot on the charts, has Williams even more excited.

“Everyone knows that people are going nuts about the film and the books, but I really didn’t know that soundtracks had that kind of impact anymore,” Williams explained. “Titanic is the last time I really remember hearing about a soundtrack, and that was a total pop crazy huge thing. It’s really cool since we haven’t had a single on alternative radio since ‘Crush Crush Crush,’ which was about a year ago. It’s nice to be back on some of those stations with ‘Decode.’ And I feel good about the song by itself.I think the soundtrack altogether really ties into the movie perfectly.”

“I don’t think I’ve fully grasped the largeness of the whole thing,” she continued. “It is a phenomenon — I’ve read the books thinking that they were great books, and now they’re everywhere. We just did a tour in South America and kids were freaking out about the books, bringing versions in Spanish for me to sign. It’s so cool that it’s everywhere — I’m flattered that we got to be a part of it.”

Twilight, the movie, hits theatres nationwide this Friday.
